Meet the Founder

Born and raised in France, Cynthia Sims is the founder and designer behind Maison WG. Her creative identity was shaped by French culture, timeless elegance, and a deep respect for authentic craftsmanship.

She studied fashion at Lycée Privé Saint-Paul Bourdon Blanc, where she completed specialized vocational training in couture and garment construction. There, she developed hands-on expertise in technical design, patternmaking, fabric cutting, garment assembly, fittings, and finishing. This foundation taught her to combine creativity with precision, discipline, and traditional craftsmanship.

Through fashion internships and professional experiences in France and internationally, Cynthia discovered diverse approaches to couture, artisanal production, and garment construction. Working across different countries broadened her creative perspective and strengthened the meticulous attention to detail that continues to define her work.

She later gained professional experience with renowned French fashion and luxury houses, including Simone Pérèle and Hermès. At Hermès, she worked in product verification, developing a strong understanding of quality control, precision, refined finishing, and exceptional craftsmanship. These values remain at the heart of every Maison WG creation.

After moving to the United States, Cynthia continued expanding her knowledge through fashion courses, industry experiences, Fashion Week events, and creative showcases in New York. These opportunities deepened her understanding of luxury fashion, visual presentation, emerging trends, and the international fashion industry.

Her expertise includes fashion illustration, fabric selection, pattern-making, fabric cutting, garment construction, technical sewing, fittings, alterations, quality control, and meticulous hand finishing. She approaches every stage of the creative process with patience and intention, from the first concept to the completed garment.

Alongside fashion, Cynthia discovered a passion for education and became a private French and fashion instructor. Today, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English at Georgia Southern University, with the goal of continuing her studies in communication.

A life-changing diagnosis of Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss and tinnitus gave Cynthia a renewed sense of purpose. Rather than allowing this challenge to stop her, she chose to move forward with courage, clarity, and determination.

Now based in Atlanta, Cynthia brings her French heritage, technical expertise, and minimalist sensibility to Maison WG. Each garment is thoughtfully designed and handmade through a slow, intentional process, from consultation and illustration to fabric selection, pattern-making, fittings, construction, and meticulous finishing.

Maison WG values authenticity over excess, craftsmanship over mass production, and individuality over passing trends. Whether creating a timeless wardrobe essential or a bold statement piece, Cynthia’s goal is to produce garments that feel personal, refined, expressive, and enduring.

Through Maison WG, she hopes to offer more than beautifully crafted clothing. She wants every creation to carry authenticity, a human touch, and personal meaning while inspiring others to believe that, despite life’s unexpected challenges, their dreams remain valid, possible, and worth pursuing.
